Vacation Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is around
the corner are you skinny jean ready?  Follow one of

Water? That is the secret to weight loss that I have been looking for, can't be? Can it? I have ignored
articles preaching water is the way to weight loss many times before; however, the Wrangler National
Finals Rodeo is 22 days away (as I write this article) and I am single. Cowboy Heaven should be a
pseudo name for the WNFR!

As reported in Cosmopolitan Magazine (yes, this is one of my ultimate sources of information, isn't it
yours?) Brenda Davy, PhD, RD an associate professor in the department of human nutrition at
Virginia Tech recently stated drinking two glasses of H2O pre-chowdown has shown to increase weight
lose for women in their 20's and 30's. Lucky me, I am in my 20's. Picking up an issue of Cosmo to read
about the latest how to snag a guy report may have just turned into my personal dieting dream.
Science Daily (sciencedaily.com) recently reported similar results stating women who consume 16
ounces post meal, 3 times a day lost up to 5 lbs more than dieters who did not increase water intake.

Why H2O Works..

The two studies conclude that water takes up space in your stomach, ultimately making you feel full
faster. Well duh, how did I not think about this before? Perhaps I never considered that if I simply
focus more on consuming water and less on depriving myself of the not so great for me foods (which
almost always starts with a few great dieting days followed by a collapse of good habits and complete
day of gorging) I may stick to a diet plan.

My Oath to you cowgirls..

For the next 22 days (practically the most important 22 days in my singledom) I will increase my
water take by 16 ounces pre-meal at least 3 times  a day and report back to you.

~ Skinny jeans are hanging on the closet door and I am prepared to lose that extra 5
-10 lbs I have cursed since college! If only I had a cowboy to hang next to the jeans to
increase my motivation!

I weighed myself this morning and weighed in at (yeeks did I really agree to post my
weight?) 152.5 lbs, I am 5'6.5" (yes I need that .5 in there). Here's to a water filled day,
chat with you tomorrow fellow cowgirls!

~ EEKS! I weighed in at 153 so I haven't lost a thing. Drinking pre-meals is a lot harder
than it sounds. I waited to drink my water until I was cooking and I felt rushed and
ended up nibbling on homemade bread while downing my water. I have a new game
plan today of drinking water an hour before I normally get hungry. Here's to hoping I
am a tad more structured today!

Shay was unsuccessful with completing this challenge. She reports it was just like
most "diets" its hard to remember to drink the water and even want to drink the
water. "I often wait to eat until I am starving and the last thing I wanted to do was
drink a glass of water prior to eating. I also found it hard to drink water and not pick
at the meal I was preparing- if I don't taste test it how can I serve it to my friends or
fam.?" - Shay.
